As we mentioned previously in the F-Response 3.09 release blog post, we have begun transitioning to a new dongle design. Don't worry, F-Response 3.09 and immediate releases/updates will continue to work with your existing dongle, however when you renew or upgrade we will be transitioning you to the new dongle at that time.

Let me take a minute to answer a few questions about the new dongle.

1. The old dongles were quite functional, they are USB HID based (driverless) is the new dongle also driverless?

A. Yes, completely, in fact the new dongle and old dongle are functionally identical.

2. Occassionally the label would come un-glued from the old dongle, has this been addressed with the new dongle?

A. Yes, the new dongle is laser etched, so your customer number and the snazzy F-Response logo aren't going to rub off anytime soon.

3. The old dongle had no "cap" and I am concerned it could become damaged over time, does the new dongle have a cap?

A. Yes, it certainly does.

4. Can I get a new dongle now?

A. If your existing dongle is damaged or non-functional, yes you are welcome to contact us for a replacement, however we would prefer to replace old dongles with new ones during an upgrade or renewal.

5. Ok, so when I upgrade or renew how will I get a new dongle?

A. When you upgrade or renew F-Response you will receive a new dongle and a pre-addressed and postage paid mailer to return the old dongle to us.

6. I bought F-Response from a reseller, I got an old dongle, is this a problem?

A. No, of course not, the old dongles will continue to work throughout the year, at some point near to the end of the year F-Response software will warn you to replace your dongle, if you haven't done this by that time we'll provide a special email address/form to take care of you.

7. Ok, so, what's the new dongle look like?

A. We thought you'd never ask. Here is the new F-Response Dongle.
