Linux License Manager and Accelerator on deck

Mar 17, 2014

Over the last few years we've built a considerable following of Linux users here at F-Response. So much so that we've started to get a steady stream of requests to make our popular accelerator and license manager available for Linux users.

I'm happy to report that we are working on exactly that right now. While there's not a lot of flashy graphics to show (as any good Linux user will know, it's all about the command line), our vision is to provide not only the License Manager and Accelerator, but a simple mechanism for scripting out access to remote machines connected to your license dongle.

Let me show you what we are working on below:

root@localhost# ./f-response-accel-lin -h
F-Response Acclerator for Linux, (Version 5.0.3)
Usage:
-h This help page.
-c F-Response ini file (From CE,CEC,EE).
-s F-Response Target Machine IP Address.
-l Login to F-Response Target based on IQN.
-u Logout of F-Response Target based on IQN.
-q Quiet output, easier to script
-d Delete all node entries, use this to clear the cache.

Examples
./f-response-accel-lin -c fresponse.ini -s 192.168.1.22
iqn......:disk-0
iqn......:vol-c
etc
./f-response-accel-lin -l iqn........:pmem

And now the new License Manager

root@localhost# ./f-response-lm-lin -h
F-Response License Manager - (Linux),(Version 5.0.3)
Usage:
-h This help page.
-p F-Response LM Port, optional, default is 5681.
-d Run in daemon mode, headless.
-l List Active Clients

Examples.
./f-response-lm-lin -d
./f-response-lm-lin -l
192.168.1.22 testmachine.test.com Windows 7

Hoepfully this gives you a taste of what's to come, if you are interested in helping us test the new acclerator and License Manager please let us know, we expect we'll be putting in the next release Consultant Edition and above.

Enjoy!
