What is F-Response?

Jan 12, 2026

I like to revisit this at least once a year. What is F-Response? What does it do, and who are the people behind it. Please consider this the 2026 version of this message.

So, what is F-Response?

Let's start by talking about what we are not. F-Response is not a could service. In fact, we really aren't a service at all. F-Response is installable software you deploy and leverage within your environment, or at you client's location(s). F-Response includes both a client and server component, both of which you install, run, and manage. Simply put, we don't have access to your data. We don't manage or administer the solution.

F-Response is yours to use during the term of your license.

What does it do?

F-Response is a force multiplier for Computer Forensics and E-Discovery. At its core, F-Response software products allow industry professionals to collect and access data from remote system using well-known and documented standard tools and protocols. F-Response is remote forensics on steroids. It's the world's longest invisible read-only hard drive cable, but it's more than that. It's a way to collect data from cloud storage, from network access storage ("NAS"), cloud servers, and more.

Who created it?

F-Response is built, tested, supported, and maintained by a small but dedicated group of former forensic professionals. Together we've logged countless hours on server room floors and in tense investigations. We know what it's like to do the work, and know even more how much you rely on the tools you've purchased to just work. We get that and we do everything we can to make that possible. Does it always go smoothly? Of course not, but when things don't go the way you were hoping, we're here to give you options, to answer your questions, and to give you the benefit of our experience.

We believe in our customers and in the work they do. We believe in F-Response and in problems it solves.

Sound interesting to you? If so, why not reach out and let us know. We're a low pressure sales team. We'd be happy to walk you through the software, listen to your challenges, and if we're the right solution, give you a chance to test it out in your environment. If not? Well, we'll be happy to point you in another direction and wish you the very best of luck in finding what works for you.

Thanks!

Matt
